photography

Studio midori loves looking for interesting compositions formed by shadows, geometry from buildings, atmosphere created by different weather conditions, and of course, the colour created by urban landscapes at night.

Like any other photographers, studio midori has experimented with, and owns different types of cameras - from 35mm SLRs , medium formats, old polaroids, to toy cameras, both film and digitals. Studio midori likes the effects of shooting in different lenses, the atmosphere created by different weather conditions, and the excitement of developing film negatives in the darkroom and see how they turn out.

Examples of photographic work is available on the left. Please click on individual images for bigger photos.

about

Who is behind studio midori?

I am Carmen, a multimedia designer with over 2 years experience in both print and digital design.

I love green things - frogs, Toy Story’s aliens and green soldiers, Mike from Monster Inc, Yoda from Star Wars, etc. This reflects in the name ’studio midori‘; ’midori‘ means ’green‘ in Japanese. I have worked as a design assistant in a textile studio, and most recently, for a global company as a graphic designer.

Having experimented with different mediums from print to digital design, I find myself enjoy doing motion graphics (animation and video work), and architectural photography work most.

When I am not working, I make vegan cakes and cookies, take lots of photographs (sometimes underwater), and occasionally, go scuba diving.
